PoolRx+ contains a proprietary blend of minerals that continuously and effectively eliminate algae for up to 6 months. These minerals immediately dissolve out of the cylinder and form a stable residual throughout the whole body of water. During the pool’s filtration process the minerals are rejuvenated every time they return and pass through the cylinder.

Active Ingredients:
Copper Sulphate Pentahydrate: 86.85%
Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate: 1.51%
Silver Nitrate: 0.40%
Other Ingredients: 11.24%
Also Ideal for Salt Pools:

PoolRx+ improves the saltwater experience. The minerals reduce the salt chlorine production needed to keep your salt pool algae free. Less salt chlorine production extends the life of the salt cell and reduces the amount of acid needed to balance the pH. PoolRx+ prolongs the life of your equipment, saves you money, and improves the quality of your water.

All minerals completely dissolve into the water within 3-4 hours. Keep the unit in the spa or pool even after minerals are dissolved. It’s okay to swim as soon as the unit is placed in the water.

Pre-installation

  • Drain and refill the spa or pool, if possible.
  • Test the water for metals like copper or iron. If the levels are above 0.2 ppm;
  • Choose the right PoolRx+ product based on the pool or spa total gallons of water;
  • Start with a clean filter;
  • Check that pH is between 7.2 and 7.8;
  • Check that chlorine level is below 10.0 (ten) ppm.

Installation

  • Place the unit in the body of water. The unit will float.
  • We recommend staying out of the spa during this process.
  • Keep the unit in the spa or pool even after minerals dissolve, to rejuvenate the minerals as they pass pack thru the cylinder within the unit.

Post-installation (maintenance)

Note: PoolRx+ minerals will start eliminating algae once completely dissolved in the water. Minerals completely dissolve in the water within a full run cycle.

  • Maintain a clean filter at all times to capture the dead algae;
  • Maintain a chlorine level of 0.5 ppm to 1.0 (one) ppm with PoolRx+ products;
  • If the spa or pool is green or cloudy, we recommend maintaining a chlorine level of 2.0 (two) ppm until it clears; ▪
  • Do not shock unless necessary, even if the chlorine level is low;
  • Maintain the water pH between 7.2 to 7.8.

No need for other algaecides, specialty chemicals like phosphate removers or sequestration agents. Do not use with bromine or biguanides products.

PoolRx+ has a NSF 50 certification for safety and quality.

All minerals completely dissolve into the water within 3-4 hours. Replace the unit when the spa or pool is drained and or every 4 months, whichever comes first.

No Need to Pre-Set Filter

There is no need to pre-set the filter, since the unit is placed in the pool, and the minerals will be dissolved in the body of water.

Green to Clear

If you are starting with a dirty spa or pool, backwash or clean the filter every few days.

Chlorine and Other Chemicals

Only small amounts of chlorine are necessary (0.5 – 1.00 ppm). Do not let pH to go above 7.8, as it would make the chlorine ineective. If the spa or pool are clear, do not shock the body of water, even if the chlorine level are low. Do not add algaecides or phosphate removers.

Not compatible for use with bromine or biguanides products.

Efficient Filtration

Keep the filter clean to capture dead algae. Keeping the filter clean is critical for the PoolRx+ products to work eciently and help capture the dead algae in the circulation process.

Copper Levels with PoolRx

It is normal if the copper levels rise with PoolRx+ products. PoolRx+ minerals have a proprietary chelation process which bonds to the metals on a molecular level. This allows higher levels of copper, silver and zinc in the water without staining concerns. This formula and chelation process makes PoolRx+ products eective against algae and bacteria while reducing the need for high chlorine levels (0.5 to 1.0 ppm chlorine when the water is clear).

Some testing methods may recommend a stain control product or draining the pool. These methods don’t consider the chelation process that bonds the PoolRx+ minerals to the metals. Adding stain control products is not necessary.

It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

Clean or backwash your filter before adding PoolRx+ and remove all debris from skimmer and pump basket.

Place the PoolRx+ pool unit into Pump Basket or Skimmer. Ideally place in pump basket for increased water flow.

The PoolRx+ pool unit should be added to the pool when the pump has at least 3 to 4 hours left on run cycle. This will ensure the granular completely dissolves out of the unit and through the filter into the pool.

Pump should run during the heat of the day.

Your pool should turn over its total volume of water at least 1.5 times per day. Generally, this will require 6 to 8 hours of pump runtime depending on gallons of water and pump flow rate.

We recommend starting with a new PoolRx+ pool unit every year for best results. The rejuvenating cylinder gets calcified and oxidized during the year.

The PoolRx+ granular minerals are lost from algae kill, backwashing, splash out and filter cleaning. The harder the minerals work and the tougher the conditions, the shorter their lifespan. Add a PoolRx+ booster when chlorine demand is increasing, there is algae growth or the water looks a little dull, even though the water is balanced and has at least 0.5-1.0 ppm of chlorine. You know it’s time to replace these lost granular with the PoolRx+ booster (Part #332001). For seasonal markets, start with a new PoolRx+ pool unit at the beginning of each swim season.

No need for phosphate removers, other algaecides, clarifiers. PoolRx+ pool unit is not compatible for use with bromine or biguanides.

If using Cal-Hypo products, be sure to follow the Cal-Hypo manufacturer’s directions for use.

Before draining a treated pool contact your local sanitary sewer and storm drain authori-ties and follow their discharge instructions. Do not discharge treated pool or spa water to any location that flows to a gutter, storm drain or natural water body unless discharge is allowed by state and local authorities.
