Maximize Your Pool Efficiency:
Use, Adjust, Maintain.
How It Works
Once the unit is added to the skimmer (or pump basket), all blue minerals dissolve out of the cylinder and pass through the pool filter and into the water within 4 – 6 hours. The minerals form a stable residual throughout the whole body of water eliminating the algae and bacteria wherever they may be in the pool. These minerals recharge ionically as they pass through the PoolRx cylinder. This is why the minerals are so effective and last up to 6 months, depending on algae kill, backwash and splash-out.
Directions for Use
Keep the unit in the pool even after minerals are dissolved in the water. The unit rejuvenates the minerals as they pass back thru it.
Pre Installation
- Test the water for metals like copper or iron. If the levels are above 0.2 ppm, see the QR Code for instructions on how to remove them;
- Choose the right PoolRx+ product based on the pool or spa total gallons of water.;
- Start with a clean filter;
- Set your type of filter correctly (refer to the back of this card);
- Check that pH is between 7.2 and 7.8;
- Check that chlorine level is below 10.00 ppm.
Post Installation (Maintenance)
Note: PoolRx minerals start eliminating algae and bacteria immediately, which will be captured by the filter.
- Clean the filter more frequently until the pool is clear;
- Vacuum any dirt or debris in the pool frequently;
- If the water is green or cloudy, maintain a chlorine level of 2.0 ppm until it clears;
- If the water is clear, maintain a chlorine level of 0.5 ppm to 1.00 ppm;
- Maintain the water pH between 7.2 and 7.8;
- No need for speciality chemicals like algaecides, phosphate removers and sequestration agents. Do not use with bromine or biguanides products.
Installation
Place the unit in the skimmer (if there is good water flow), or pump basket. Units for pools and spas below 7.5K gallons can also float in the water. Note: All minerals dissolve out of the unit and into the water within 6 hours. It is safe to swim as soon as the unit is placed in the water.
Recommended Filter Settings (to optimize mineral flow)
All minerals completely dissolve into the water within 1-6 hours.
Sand Filter
- Backwash and rinse filter until it’s clean.
- Switch the gear from “Filter” to “Bypass / Circulation”.
- Add the unit in the skimmer or pump basket.
- Let the pool run for a full cycle of 12 hours.
- Place the gear back to “Filter”, after 12 hours of run cycle.
Cartridge Filter
- Remove the cartridge from the filter housing and clean it.
- Place the unit in the skimmer or pump basket.
- Run the pool for 12 hours or full run cycle.
- Place the cartridges back into the filter, after 12 hours or full run cycle.
DE Filter
- Clean filter completely.
- Add minimum required amount of DE. Don’t overpack filter, so that minerals don’t get caught in the filter.
- Place the unit in the skimmer.
- Run the pool for 6-12 hours or full run cycle.
