FAQ
Q. How Do I run a Pool with PoolRx minerals and PoolRx Ozone?
A. The PoolRx Ozone and minerals on ce placed in the pool, go to work 24hrs per day. That's it.
Q. Do I need to use chlorine?
A. Yes.
Chlorine or and Oxidizer is an integral part of the system. However much less chlorine is needed. As the PoolRx system is a phenomenal clarifier.
Q. Will it harm the system if my chlorine levels are too high?
A. No.
The PoolRx minerals are heavily sequested (isolated) with a patented formula to eliminate staining. But having a high chlorine level is a waste of chlorine.
Q. Should I use an Algaecide?
A. No.
Other algaecides are not normally necessary , algae growth is normally caused by poor filtration not enough chlorine and lack of minerals
Q. Can I use a metal out or stain control product
A. Yes.
This will not adversely effect the performance of the PoolRx minerals, In fact we recommend using the PoolRx Stain Control, as a quarterly program. You do not know what outside elements may get into your tap water.
Q. Cloudy water
A. Cloudy water is caused by a couple of things, lack of available oxidizer or poor filtration.
The PoolRx minerals do not eliminate organics which make the water cloudy, this is the oxidizers role, this is why we recommend a feeder of some sort and tabs this allows you to keep a constant low residual. Filtration, the pump should run for at least 6 to 8 hours a day in summer and during the heat of the day.
Q. Bluing of the plaster
A. This is caused by bad pool chemistry; this tends to be by high calcium levels. High calcium level will start precipitating onto your pools surface. This in turn attracts The PoolRx minerals like a magnet onto these calcified areas. This is not an oxidized stain and can be removed by lowering the calcium levels and removing the calcification areas of your pool surface.
Q. Algae appearing
A. There are only a couple of reasons why you would get algae:
- Chlorine residual to low
- Poor filtration
- Pool not being vacuumed
Q. How do I test for PoolRx minerals?
A. Unfortunately no test kit available gives a true and accurate reading. The reason being all the minerals in the PoolRX product are heavily sequested to eliminate problems associated with metals and staining.
Q. My Chlorine test kit says add chlorine?
A. Chlorine test kits are there to sell more chlorine, keep a 0.5 to 1.0ppm reading and keep your pH and Alkalinity in the right ranges..
Q. How long in the life span of the PoolRx unit?
A. Over the years of extensive testing, we have found to receive the optimum performance from the PoolRx system is to replace the unit every year.
Q. Is PoolRX compatible with all sanitizing systems
A. Do not use with metal-based products, Baquacil or any Biguande products and do not use copper or silver based algaecides. Ozone and salt system work well with PoolRx system.
